Parents and Babes- Mondays 9 am to 11 am
Join our facilitator Sarah Conley each Monday morning for snacks, play, and connection at Dragonfly! This program is an inclusive and nurturing environment for parents/caregivers and their children aged 0-5 years. This is a great opportunity to meet other families on the island in a casual, friendly space, and for babies and children to play and interact with their peers. Parents and Babes is made possible by a grant from the Victoria Foundation.
HOP- Wednesdays 9:00 am to 10:15 am in the school gym
Healthy Opportunities for Preschoolers (HOP) is a drop in program for children ages 1-5 years and their parents/caregivers. Each week our trained facilitator will set up the school gym with balance bikes, plasma cars, obstacle courses, and much more! This program is a great place for children to develop their gross motor skills, to build self confidence and to have fun playing with their peer. Thanks to CRD Parks and Recreation and to Pender School for their generous support of this program.
Dad N' Me Pancake Breakfast- One Saturday a month 9 am to 11 am
Calling all dads, grandpas, uncles, or special big guys and the little ones in your lives! Join us one Saturday morning a month in Dragonfly for a delicious pancake breakfast. We will have pancakes and maple syrup, bacon or sausages, fruit, coffee or tea and juice. This is an inclusive program for children and their favourite big fella to have a special morning to play and connect and enjoy a meal together. And, it's a great opportunity to give moms a quite morning to themselves! This program is made possible through funding from the Ministry of Children and Families.
Parent Education- programming throughout the year
Throughout the year Dragonfly hosts a variety of parent education classes and events. We strive to provide quality and relevant programs that help give parents/caregivers tools and skills as they navigate raising their children. We also host expert speakers and early childhood educators on a variety of topics relating to parenting and early years education. Past courses include Nobody's Perfect Parenting, Circle of Security, and My Tween and Me. Please check here or the Dragonfly Home Page for upcoming programs and events.
This year we will be running a Workshop series focusing on parent and caregiver self-growth and empowerment. Workshops will be held at Dragonfly from 6-8 pm at a cost of $10 per participant. You can get more information or sign up for workshops by emailing dragonflyfamilycentre@gmail.com.
